Tom Bergeron Set to Miss DWTS to Be With Sick Dad: Details

Alfonso to the rescue! Tom Bergeron has been forced to take a night off his hosting duties for Dancing With the Stars tonight, Monday, Oct. 5, to be with his sick dad. But Erin Andrews won't be left alone to present the show single-handedly — she's being joined by Season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro, a source reveals to Us Weekly.

Bergeron, 60, made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday, Oct. 4, that he would be missing his presenting duties the following day due to a vital family commitment.

"I'll miss 2morrow's #dwts to be at my Dad's bedside," the popular TV star wrote. "He's given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor," he added, in a caption to a very sweet photo of a young Bergeron sitting on his dad's knee.

Ribeiro's offer to fill in will be the second time the former Mirrorball winner has stepped in for much loved TV-host Bergeron. He recently took over as host of America's Funniest Home Videos, a role long synonymous with the DWTS presenter.

And talking to Us at last week's show, having just performed the role of Season 21's guest judge, Ribeiro revealed he and Bergeron share a very close, and mutually supportive relationship.
